Without additive: Urea without surface treatment is used for industrial purposes and as feedstuff in agriculture, and it can be more easily solved for being a liquid fertilizer component than the surface treated one.

Application
For animal breeding, urea can provide the 25% to 30% of the protein need of ruminants. Industry uses urea and formaldehyde to produce resin like amino plastics and timber adhesives.
